Da Romolo was one of the best restaurants where I had food in Rome. It’s a very authentic place, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and the staff were friendly and attentive. I started with the fried fresh vegetables, eggplants, zucchini and bell pepper and they were amazing. The portion was very generous, perfectly crispy on the outside, moist and tender inside, and most importantly, not oily at all. The waiter then recommended their homemade, freshly made gnocchi with a simple tomato sauce. You can also have them with ragou, but I went with the tomato sauce, the best gnocchi I’ve ever had! Simple, fresh, and absolutely delicious. The tables were clean, and you can really feel the attention and care they put into the little details. Overall, a fantastic and very authentic Roman experience. I highly recommend this place. Just make sure to reserve in advance if you’re planning to go in the afternoon or evening. A Taste of True Rome and exceptional value: Dining at Da Romolo Alla Mole Adriana One of the highlights of our time in Rome has been discovering Da Romolo Alla Mole Adriana. It came highly recommended by the wonderful team at our hotel, Trianon Borgo Pio Aparthotel, and it exceeded every expectation. From the moment we walked in, we experienced hospitality at its very best. We were looked after by Ciccio, who truly embodies the art of Italian hospitality. Friendly, intuitive, warm and genuinely passionate about making every guest feel welcome, he made our family feel so special. Service like that is something you remember long after the meal is over. And then there was the food The Margherita pizza was, without question, the best I’ve had in Rome. My daughter declared the Carbonara absolutely outstanding, while my seafood linguine was nothing short of heavenly. To finish, we enjoyed authentic Italian gelato—the perfect ending to a memorable meal. What made the experience even more special was how authentic it felt. The restaurant was filled with locals, including five priests who all arrived separately to dine there. That’s always a good sign when you’re looking for the real taste of Italy. To top it all off, the prices were incredibly reasonable, making the whole experience exceptional value. Some restaurants are worth visiting once. Others are so good you start planning your next meal before you’ve even left. We’re already heading back on our final night in Rome to savour it all over again.
