I know that the rating system is supposed to run along the lines of 3-stars being good,4-stars being very good, and 5-stars being phenomenal. I haven’t reviewed too many places in Japan due to my reluctance to skew ratings in an American way. But this place is phenomenal. It’s in the middle of nowhere and just off the side of a busy road. The katsudon is amazing and the karaage is super delicious. I would highly recommend getting both. Especially the katsudon. If you can make your way here, do it. You won’t regret it. I went to Maezawa for my wife's business! First visit to Chankoya Daigoro along National Route 4 from Maezawa's recommended lunch (≧∀≦)/// This is Love Esashi TV where I order chanko nabe even though the outside temperature is 33℃∑(ﾟДﾟ) ( ˃̶͈̀ro˂̶͈́)੭ꠥ⁾⁾ Miso-flavored udon noodles with plenty of vegetables! The rice also went well with pork and chicken. My wife has a stable ginger-yaki set meal. We had delicious. Next time I'm planning on omelet rice and katsudon.
