My person and I came to Daigoro tonight for dinner. No reservation, just walked in, the restaurant was completely full, but we were able to score a 2 top on the patio. Sunset views of the river were exquisite. Food was pretty good, had the fois Gras and Eel appetizer (magical) there were two on the plate, would have liked 10. The langostino fried rice was azing, but my mouth want sure what to do with the ginger butter, my gf had the Green curry shrimp udon. Was good, and spicy, she also had the Lychee-tini and loved it, wa served with a flower, so it was pleasing to look at as well. Everything about this place felt a little dramatic, in the best way possible. The plating was a work of art, the flavors hit hard, and the setting sun dropping behind the river made the whole experience feel like an event. I originally showed up because photos I’d seen made the food look absolutely stunning, and for once I had the funds to indulge. I decided to sit outside to take in the view, and it was beautiful, though I do wish there was a little more shade. When my waitress dropped off water, she mentioned they were running low on ribs and might sell out. I didn’t hesitate and ordered a half rack with the brisket fried rice, but alas, the ribs were gone by the time my order was placed. She recommended the Beef and Bok Choy, so I went that route, but since it came with sticky rice, I pivoted from the fried rice and went with the Pork Belly Skewers instead. Turns out that was a combination that absolutely slapped, and I loved it. Daigoro is not a quick, cheap meal, but it is worth every dime. I’ll definitely be back. Next time, though, I might sit inside. I have a complicated relationship with the sun, and sometimes I just need some space. Price per person: $40–50 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
