There's always a short wait at Daikokusan, but that's because it is a local favorite. It's located at a great spot in relation to the train station and local shopping, and lots of people visit whether they're just passing through or if they're local with friends and family. The sushi chefs are hard at work in the center of the restaurant, with some close proximity seating and a few booths scattered. Order directly with the chef if your choice isn't circulating on the conveyor belt. Standard unlimited, hot green tea. There is a front and back entrance that both connect to the walking paths. The fish and rice is fresher than other sushi restaurants near here. Gaijin Note: The menu is all in Japanese, so it helps to have a working knowledge, but pointing and using your fingers to count always works. Two year update: This shop still ranks one of my favorite sushi restaurants after trying many in the Zama, Sagami-Ono, and Machida areas.
