My husband, a chef and I love discovering great restaurants, so we were especially excited when a place of this caliber opened right here in Meriden. Recently, we brought my sister, brother-in-law, and all four of our kids for dinner, and the experience was even better than we had hoped. The remodel has transformed the space beautifully—elegant yet warm and welcoming, with excellent lighting and comfortable seating that works perfectly for both a romantic date night and a lively family meal. We had reservations and were seated promptly with our group of seven. The service was outstanding from start to finish. The team was professional, polite, and genuinely knowledgeable about the menu. They showed a great sense of urgency while still being warm and attentive to every detail, including making our children feel welcome. It was the kind of thoughtful service that makes dining out truly enjoyable. As for the food, it was exceptional. We ordered the sushi boat, and every piece was fresh, beautifully prepared, and full of bright, clean flavor. The rice was perfectly seasoned, the fish pristine, and the overall execution showed real care and craftsmanship. Even our kids were thoroughly impressed. The cocktails were equally delicious—well-balanced, creative, and perfectly complemented the meal. They also have a fantastic bar area if you just want to stop in for drinks. Whether you’re planning a special night out or a casual dinner with family, this restaurant delivers on every level. Meriden finally has a true destination spot that operates at a high standard. Food and drinks were great! Service was friendly and welcoming. I'm so happy to have a great restaurant back in our little South Meriden "downtown". I'm not vegan but their vegan menu looked amazing and had a large variety. Price per person: $20–30 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian offerings: Vegetarian menu or section

I am usually a little skeptical of asian fusion places but I was incredibly impressed with the quality of the dinner I had at Daisuki Ran tonight. It is a clean, modern and upscale interior with a nice bar area, sushi bar and large seating area. Service was incredibly friendly and attentive, even when dinner rush came in. We ordered the tuna crispy rice and spicy glazed ribs for appetizers. Tuna crispy rice tasted great and were balanced bites, the ribs were nicely marinated but really not that spicy (that's ok, I know we're in Meriden CT). The cocktail menu was asian inspired and had really interesting cocktails-- even the mocktails were enjoyable. I got the nasi goreng which was nice, but tasted kind of generically asian with a dark soy sauce flavor rather than anything distinctly Indonesian. I will say it was also not spicy despite me ordering it spicy. My friend told me the sushi was also good. I will say the sleeper standouts were the ube pan de sal, the matcha yuzu tiramisu and leche flan. As a filipina I will say those warm rolls were AMAZING and the best pan de sal I've had-- we ordered a second round since we loved them so much, it reminded us of our childhood. The ube flavor definitely comes through in a subtle nutty sweetness in the bread. The tiramisu was also citrusy and light, very pleasant, and the leche flan was really custardy and had a wonderful caramel flavor. My friend got the filipino pork chop to go and she was also extremely impressed with how tender it was. Maybe I'm biased but it seems like the filipino items knock it out of the park here, which we really enjoyed. We really look forward to coming back here!
