Danforth Roti Shop is a small takeout joint located in Toronto specializing in Trinidadian rotis. I see they renovated the place and it’s been a while but I waited almost 20 minutes… ordered 4 doubles and got one free and ordered a curry duck. As a Trini myself, I have high expectations for Trini food—the curry duck was not up to par personally for me. I thought it was tough and overcooked and the dahlpuri roti was okay. The pepper sauce was also not the greatest. The doubles were okay. I tried to give this place a go because my favourite Trini places are a 30 minute drive but it was a miss everytime for me. Food: 2 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3 Price per person: $30–40

I ordered doubles, boneless jerk chicken with rice & peas & coleslaw and a dahl puri potato curry roti. I was very pleased. It wasn’t a giant sized roti, but it was a perfect size roti. The doubles had a nice cucumber chutney, and the hot sauce is tasty. This was my first time visiting Danforth Roti Shop. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

I've had boneless goat curry at a number of Caribbean restaurants in the area and beyond, and so far I think I found the perfect one. Meat is always tender, quantity is decent, the dish is not too spicy and coleslaw is really well made. I took one star off because they don't tell you when they don't have your exact order and just serve you anyway. For example, instead of rice and peas and coleslaw (which you ordered), you will get rice and beans and green salad. This is an absolutely horrible practice and it needs to stop NOW. I'm sure most customers would be fine skipping coleslaw and rice and peas, but ones that wouldn't be, - wouldn't be because they have particular FOOD INTOLERANCES which aggravate their stomach issues. I can't have beans, for example and I don't appreciate them being in my order COVERTLY without as much as a warning! This is dishonest, patronising and disrespectful. If you want 5 star reviews - learn to be HONEST with your clients,
