I would rate their service 6 out of 5 stars if I could. We came in for lunch with our sleeping 2 year. We were seated immediately and they gave us a small cushion so our child could continue her nap while we ate lunch. They very graciously answered all our questions about the menu (we are pescetarian and do not consume pork, beef or chicken-based broth). The soup was very flavorful without being overly salty. The shrimp and vegetable tempura were perfectly cooked! I would definitely come back here the next time we are in Kyoto. Price per person: ¥1–1,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: Their soups are seafood-based, so don’t get that. Their off-the-menu veg option is rice with vegetable tempura.

The restaurant is relatively cheap. I have scored it higher because unfortunately the fish broth was over powering. Maybe it was down to us choosing the udon noodles over the soba noodles. We had the tofu udon and mushroom udon. The tofu was surprisingly sweet. The mushroom was better but again the broth was a bit too overpowering Price per person: ¥1–1,000 Food: 3 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4
