Our evening at Daniel's Broiler - Leschi on yesterday, the 24th began with hope and ended with an unnerving surprise. We kicked off our girls' night out around 6:15 PM, ordering the Fried Calamari, Bone-In Rib-Eye 30 oz, and I Signature Oscar Style. The food was competent, but certainly didn't offer the wow-factor we were hoping for. However, the most jarring part of our experience came with our dessert: a Deep Dish Chocolate Chip Cookie served with a seemingly innocent shot glass of milk. It's here that our evening took a turn for the worse. As I was about to finish the glass of milk, a hard, unexpected object met my tongue. To my horror, it was a piece of shattered glass. This was not the crunch I was looking for in my dining experience. We promptly alerted the waiter, who responded by simply waiving the cost of the dessert from our bill. What struck me was the lack of urgency or empathy displayed in this response. No manager offered an apology or took the time to address our concerns. I appreciate the effort to not make a scene, but their nonchalant reaction to what could have been a serious injury was quite disappointing. Writing this review is not about creating drama, but about informing potential dinners about our experience, cautioning them to be wary of foreign objects or potential hazards in their meals. I sincerely hope the piece of glass I found was an isolated incident, and that no smaller particles were ingested unknowingly. The food itself may have been passable, but the lack of concern for customer safety leaves a sour taste that overshadows any culinary success they might have achieved. As such, I find it difficult to recommend a return visit to this restaurant. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $100+ Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 3
