This was the second time we had been here, and both times, everything was great. We will definitely be back in the future, especially if they start serving a porterhouse steak on the menu. Hopefully, it's a really thick cut as well. It was nice to get to meet the owner while we were there as well. It's always nice to know who's behind the scenes at a good place to eat. Wish I had taken pictures of our meals. I guess I will get some the next time we are there. My group of friends wanted a hearty meal after a doozy of a hike in Shenandoah national park. Fortunately for us, Dan’s Steak House was within a few miles of our lodging, so we decided to go there for dinner. We made a reservation (for a party of 16 no less) and within 20 minutes our table was ready for us. Our hosts, Nicki and Stacey, were kind and extremely attentive, making us all feel as if we were at home. For dinner, I had a 6 oz sirloin with Mac n cheese and the best mashed potatoes I’ve had in a looooong time. And to finish it all off, a divine blackberry cobbler with some vanilla ice cream which was almost as sweet as Nicki and Stacey. Great establishment, can’t wait to come back on my next trip to the area. Eat at Dan’s! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Steaks were perfect. Tender and cooked just right. Good rolls and fresh salad. Blooming onion was perfect. Good service and friendly staff.
