Excellent food. I tried the tajine and sardine which was very tasty and thick in the cook. Salad was great. Their homemade chilli was great. Owner was chatty and informative and kept us comfortable. Took the time to explain dishes I asked. Secretly charged us extra 10mad in the bill but was ok with it, as it was over of the better places to dine and do was a tip. Price per person: MAD 1–50

Dear Sydney, Thank you so much for your warm review and for your kind words about the tajine, the sardines, the salad, and our homemade chilli — it truly touches us. We would, however, like to address the point about the bill with the utmost clarity, as transparency with our guests is a core value at Dar Lwalida. In our restaurant, the bill is always prepared and checked together with the customer before payment, so that no ambiguity remains. Here is the exact breakdown of your order, which came to 138 MAD : Moroccan salad — 18 MAD Baked sardines — 45 MAD Chicken and fries — 45 MAD Orange juice (x2) — 30 MAD You paid us 140 MAD, and the 2 MAD difference simply corresponds to the tip you generously left — no additional amount was ever added to your bill. We wanted to make this clear, as it is essential to us that no guest ever leaves our establishment feeling they were charged something hidden or unjustified. It was a real pleasure welcoming you and Nadine, and we hope to have the honor of hosting you again very soon at Dar Lwalida. With our warmest regards, The Dar Lwalida Owner Rabat

Had the most delicious, fresh fish - special of the day. And after an amazing meal, we ordered the traditional Moroccan mint tea. This was the best mint tea we’ve had in Morocco so far. The owner was so lovely, friendly and very genuine. Dal L’Walida is definitely a local secret in Rabat. It will always be a go to.
