If you feel hungry after visiting Alberta Park, have a meal at this restaurant. Daruma offers its guests Japanese cuisine. Order perfectly cooked nigiri, salmon and sashimi. Good beer is served at this place.

My husband and I were shocked to travel to the location on Killingsworth and find the restaurant closed ( and the one next door as well). We loved Daruma. The rolls were always tasty, made with care, and the vegetables were done with such style and flavor. I'm shocked twice over to read some of the snippy reviews here. There's no reason to go on and on about your experience, and clearly, many posting here loved the place. A simple star rating and a "not for me" should suffice, unless the customer is really getting ripped off. We didn't find that to be the case. So, Daruma team, just posting to tell you how much we enjoyed our experiences at your restaurant. I'm hoping plans are in the works to revive your spirit if not your restaurant.

Let's start with "I love Sushi".... I could eat it every day, all day. With that being said, I'm picky about where I go to get fish that is raw. Daruma Sushi + Sake did not disappoint. If anything, they exceeded expectations. It was rainy, things were a bit slow on a Saturday night, but we sure were happy that their doors were open and ready for business. We were taken care of by the sushi chef, Devin, treated like royalty by Cara, and entertained by Kyle. The selection of fish was exquisite, each one melting in our mouths, buttery and simply superb quality. We were overwhelmed by choices, so we opted to have Devin choose a sampler of sashimi for us, followed by a few rolls. It was the perfect way to taste many delicacies that were unfamiliar to us. We were able to enjoy multiple types of salmon, including belly, and were able to try fish that is unavailable in Southern California where we normally eat sushi. The atmosphere was nice, clean, and inviting. Great conversations all while being served quality sushi. We left full, satisfied, and for a reasonable dollar amount. Go here. Eat well and allow those who serve you to guide your taste buds to sheer bliss. I'm certain you will leave happy.
