As a pair of jetlagged travelers, my wife and I stumbled into Deep Gold Milano at some ungodly hour before the sun even considered rising. I'm pretty sure we were speaking in a mix of Italian, English, and pure gibberish, but the owner, a true saint among men, greeted us with the kind of cheerful welcome usually reserved for people who are, you know, fully awake. He's a legend. Super friendly, incredibly welcoming, and he makes a coffee so smooth it could probably solve all of your life's problems. We were in Milan for three nights and found ourselves here three times—two of which were before 6 a.m. because this place was our beacon of hope in the darkness.
