FEB2026 - a hidden gem, hard to find but what a discovery. Perfect yakitori place. We rediscovered chicken. And loved the chef of the place, super talented, polite and friendly. If you are polite enough, he will reveal great English skills also . Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We came here with a limited context with yakitori, having had some good and some not good previously. We previously had mixed and sometimes frustrating experiences in Tokyo as foreigners not speaking Japanese. We were welcomed in and appreciated as the chef generously explained the options to us in English. There was three sizes of set menus and we were able to order additional after our set menu concluded. The counter has limited seating so I count us lucky getting a seat without a reservation, but it was February so perhaps the slow season? Each course was carefully crafted, from deboned chicken neck to breasts rolled around spring onion or deboned wings stuffed with lotus root(?) and crab(?). The quality of the product shined through in the taste of the chicken or the nutty sweetness of the eggplant, seasoned enough to be delicious but not too much to outshine the product itself. The same could be said for the taste of the binchotan: present but not overwhelming. Each item was cooked to a juicy level of doneness. The chicken was carefully chosen from the yatsugatake mountains, and the rare breast meat was a delightful first for me. We asked the chef for recommendations for sake. I have some limited experience with sake but not a ton. The second sake I ordered, in particular, an unpasteurised sake as it was explained to me, was outstanding. The hospitality was excellent. The chef himself kept our water glasses and sake glasses full. The restaurant was comfortable and beautifully decorated. Perhaps this is not unusual but I was delighted by the fact that the grill was literally under my nose in front of us yet the exhaust hood that was built into the counter silently kept us waiting to smell the binchotan until the food was on our plate. The meal seemed to be quite a value to me given the quality of the food and drink. The total was around 140usd for three sakes of the chefs choosing, two of the small (six skewer) menus plus an additional three skewers each Thank you to the staff for an excellent meal. I look forward to returning on my next trip to Tokyo Meal type: Dinner Price per person: ¥8,000–9,000 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
