We had a wonderful stay at Desire Village! It feels like being in the middle of the jungle, surrounded by trees, a lovely garden and stunning views, but it's actually only 15 minutes walking from the little town of Rakwana, which has a lot of shops and good and cheap places to eat. Our room was very nice with a huge terrace and an amazing view. The host was super helpful, welcoming and friendly, we shared beautiful memories and conversations! Breakfast was delicious! We would definitely recommend this place for an authentic and relaxing experience in Sri Lanka. Thank you for everything! Service: 5

I came here after a three-day reverse hike on the newly opened Heritage Trail (Galle to Ratnapura). I hiked solo from Ratnapura via Nivithigala and Endana to Rakwana. After the strenuous hike, two days of relaxation at Desire Village Rakwana were very welcome. The room and bathroom were clean and tidy, the terrace and view was enormous. So much space to relax. Add to that the green garden and the friendly and very helpful staff. For that, I give it 5 stars. I'm deducting one star for three reasons: 1. Several "white" walls desperately need a fresh coat of paint. 2. The stairs and hallway in front of my accommodation were not properly cleaned. 3. I booked the first day through a platform and extended the second day without booking. Unfortunately, there was no price reduction, despite the savings on the agency fee. However, I like to recommend this guesthouse to everyone following me on the Heritage Trail. Service: 5
