Trying nicely cooked ribeye, bacon and Baked potatoes is a pleasant experience here. Most likely, you'll return to this steakhouse later to order good brandy. A lot of visitors order great coffee.

..AHHH THE SMELL OF A MEAT MARKET..AMERICAN POTATO SALAD WAS GOOD.. GERMAN POTATOE SALAD NEXT.. AND WHEN YOU BUY 10 POUNDS OF GROUND BEEF, IT'S $2.00 A POUND..

Got some ugly steaks and asked what and how to cook them best and they were very helpful and Wow best steaks ever and I will be back for more and there not even close to me there a 40 mile round trip. Worth the drive

Like an unthinking sheep, I flock to the usual spots when I need to cook a special, meaty meal. But here's Dickman's Meat & Deli, nary a stone's throw from our house, easier on the pocket book than Wholefood's or AJ's and far less exhausting than any neighborhood Costco. the day before Thanksgiving. After nearly every chain supermarket, including Costco, failed to carry beef short ribs, our substitute for Thanksgiving turkey, I headed over to Dickman's. Located in a strip mall anchored by Hobby Lobby, Dickman's is in a rather non-descript spot tucked away to the right of Hobby Lobby, if you are facing it. At about 9:30am in the morning, Dickman's was already filled with a steady stream of customers. The cool-looking tatt'dguy wearing sunglasses and sporting a bandana, while holding his motorcycle helmet decisively choose a beautiful standing beef rib roast, while another middle-aged man in a striped shirt beamed as he made his way out of the store with his oversized turkey. Here at Dickman's meat is, to quote Martha Stewart, "a GOOD thing." Having rarely dabbled in beef short ribs, and having associated beef short ribs with being cut individually, I actually read up on short ribs before going to Dickman's, lest I appear foolish in front of these meat mavericks. Unfortunately, even 30 seconds of desperate Wikipedia on my phone before entering the store made me unable to understand the difference between the English cut (individual ribs) versus the flanken, which is the cut commonly used in Asian dishes (ie. Korean Kalbi). Fortunately, the butcher serving me was so kind that he made the correct cut (English) after making a test flanken cut. It was then that I realized I was probably as clueless about meat as I was about my car. I ended up with about 5 lbs of fresh and expertly-cut beef short ribs @ $9.99/ea, which I thought was reasonable, considering I didn't need to buy the entire cow nor pay as much for short ribs as I would dining out at a fancy restaurant. Besides its knowledgeable and friendly service, Dickmans' also carries its own specialty seasonings, a variety of sauces for BBQing, as well as specialty meats and some ready-made food. Next time, I'll make Dickman's my first instead of last stop for meat.
