As a local, I’ve tried plenty of restaurants around Canmore and Banff, and I have to say this place is definitely worth five stars. Prices in this area are obviously going to be higher because it’s a tourist destination. Rent, wages, and food costs aren’t cheap, so I never expect a restaurant here to have big-city prices. What matters to me is whether I actually feel like I got what I paid for. Unfortunately, there are quite a few places around town where you pay $25–30 for a meal and still wonder where the food is. Small portions, barely any meat, and a big tourist-town price tag. This place was a completely different experience. The portions were satisfying, the food tasted great, and the service was friendly. The pricing also felt reasonable considering the quality and portion size. I’m not looking for the cheapest meal in town. Good food costs money, and I’m happy to pay a fair price when the quality is there. I just don’t like paying premium prices for an average meal. For me, this place gets the balance right. Good food, decent portions, fair pricing, and great service. I’d happily come back and recommend it to others. Five stars from a local. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: $20–30

After a long day exploring the Icefields Parkway what a treat to have great Japanese Ramen & Sukiyaki! Even though our party arrived late, we were seated and served immediately, and our food was ready in about fifteen minutes. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen- I particularly enjoyed the seasoned egg and the richness of the broth. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20
