I enjoy eating here— the service & atmosphere is great. I wish they offered a bit more variety in their roll selection. Almost all of the rolls are shrimp focused, which makes it hard to justify the price at times.. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Price per person: ₡15,000–20,000

Fresh, creative sushi in a perfect tropical setting! We visited Dominical Sushi during our trip to the South Pacific coast and it was one of the highlights of our time in Costa Rica. Located right at the entrance to Dominical near the Barú River (you can’t miss the big sushi sign), this open-air spot combines fresh local seafood with creative Japanese cuisine in a lush, relaxed jungle vibe. The fish is incredibly fresh — caught right offshore — and the rolls are inventive and flavorful. We loved the Tico Roll (spicy shrimp, avocado, cucumber with mango and sweet plantain on the outside) and the Kamikaze Roll. Everything was beautifully presented and packed with taste. They also have great vegetarian options and tasty appetizers like the tuna tower. Portions are generous, and while prices are a bit higher than typical beach spots, the quality makes it worth it. The atmosphere is amazing with river views, soft music, and a breezy open-air setup — perfect for sunset or a relaxed dinner. Service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommend reservations if you’re coming in the evening. If you’re craving sushi while in Dominical, this is the place to go. Fresh, fun, and delicious — we’ll be back next time we’re in the area!
