Booked Domo for my brother's graduation having never been or heard of it before. How lucky we got!! Food was absolutely incredible and the service and friendliest of the staff was ever better!!! Cannot wait to come back already. Such a shame we live hours away and can't go back sooner. We will always come back every time in Leeds as we need to try everything on the menu! Everything was perfect: the location, the friendly staff and, of course, the delicious food. The restaurant is unique, with lovely details and original décor. You can really feel the passion and attention behind every little touch. We had a great time. Congratulations to the whole team — we will definitely be back! We visited Domo Leeds during its opening period because we already know and love Domo Sheffield, which is one of our favourite Italian restaurants. My friend and I came specifically to support the new opening and were genuinely excited to try it. Overall, we had a pleasant evening, and the restaurant itself looks beautiful. My friend enjoyed their food, and my seafood risotto was delicious. However, there were several issues that unfortunately made the experience disappointing compared to Domo Sheffield. For my starter, I ordered the octopus with roast potatoes, which is normally my favourite dish and something I order regularly in Sheffield. Unfortunately, this version was completely different. The dish was covered with sliced chilli peppers, making it extremely spicy. Chilli was not mentioned anywhere on the menu, and I personally do not enjoy spicy food. There were so many chilli slices that I ended up removing them from the plate myself. The sauce was also noticeably different from the one usually served with this dish in Sheffield. Instead of the sauce I was expecting, it tasted more like a simple mayonnaise-based sauce. As someone who orders this starter regularly, the difference was immediately obvious. I then ordered the seafood risotto as my main course. The risotto itself was very tasty, but once again it contained sliced chilli peppers that were not listed on the menu. This left me quite confused because I know these dishes well from Sheffield, where they have never been served this way. Both of my dishes contained unexpected chilli, which unfortunately overwhelmed the flavours and took away from the experience. Another disappointment was the seating arrangement. We were placed at a small table in a lower corner area beside a large group. Our table sat below the level of the neighbouring dining area and was separated only by an open metal railing. Throughout the evening, our view was largely of the backs of neighbouring diners rather than the restaurant itself. Because the tables were positioned so closely together, guests from the larger table were constantly standing up, moving chairs, walking around, gathering near our table. People were passing extremely close to us throughout the evening, which made the space feel cramped and uncomfortable. The group next to us was also very loud, and while I understand that guests are there to enjoy themselves, the layout amplified the issue. Chairs were scraping, people were moving around constantly, and there was very little separation between our table and theirs. We felt more like we were sitting underneath another group’s dining area than enjoying our own dining space. Personally, I think this corner would work much better with fewer tables, more space between guests, or perhaps some plants or decorative screening to provide a little privacy and comfort. Service was another area that could be improved. The staff were polite whenever we spoke to them, but throughout the evening it often felt as though most of the attention was focused on the larger tables. As a table of two, we found it difficult to get a server’s attention at times and occasionally felt overlooked. We spent quite a bit of time waiting while staff appeared busy looking after the larger groups nearby. I completely understand that this was an opening period and that the restaurant was busy and finding its rhythm. My intention is not to be negative but to provide honest feedback because I genuinely enjoy Domo and have always had wonderful experiences in Sheffield. I hope the Leeds team will review the use of chilli in dishes where it is not listed on the menu, reconsider the layout of this particular seating area, and ensure that smaller tables receive the same level of attention as larger groups. We came to support the opening because we genuinely love Domo. I hope this feedback is taken in the constructive spirit in which it is intended, and I would love to see Domo Leeds become just as exceptional as its Sheffield counterpart
