My Aunt & I were in Southern California looking for an authentic Mexican restaurant. We came across myriad fast food locations such as Taco Smell & The Crazy Chicken. But, we wanted to have a celebratory dinner at a nice establishment. We lucked out! We found Don Cuco Mexican Restaurant & boy, we were glad we did! The wait staff took care of us right away, the seating was all booths and the lighting was a bit dim - it made for a more private feel. Our order was taken quickly, the food was at our table equally fast and the food was both delicious and plentiful. (Brought home ½ our meals!) Only tiny glitch was when our waitress asked for our beverage choices. I wanted an iced tea. Unfortunately, they had neither iced coffee nor tea. My Aunt wanted wine - Pinot Grigio. Our waitress didn't have any idea what that was. She left us for a few minutes and then returned to ask, once again, what my Aunt wanted to drink. Eventually, everything got sorted out and we all lived happily ever after. Parking: The restaurant is in a strip mall, so the parking is literally right outside the door. Service bad, food bad, priced way too high for what it is.
We were seated outside, they wiped the table before we sat down but the entire surface remained sticky.
We finally ordered, after waiting at least 10 minutes, ceviche and drinks. Waiter came back to say they were out of fish and shrimp.
So, after waiting again, we each ordered combo meals: rice, beans beef tamales, Chile rellenos and enchilada.
Waited.....
Waited.....
Still no drinks.
Waited..... got drinks, asked for sugar for tea.
Waited.....
Waited.....
Got food, asked for napkins and utensils.
Waited....

All in all, not a good place to eat.

The "food" was unappealing, did not smell appetizing and did not taste good.
