Great restaurant serving some local dishes. The wine was great and meal selection was made up of various Ecuadorian foods. We had a great cheesecake that was made up of different ingredients. Not the traditional style but still very tasty. Indoor and outdoor seating is available. Great location. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $45–50

During a short stay in Cuenca, we visited this restaurant after been recommended by a dear Equatorian chef from Quito. Dos Sucres delivers an exceptional fine dining experience in Cuenca. The restaurant focuses on international cuisine while showcasing high-quality local Ecuadorian ingredients, and the result is thoughtful, creative, and beautifully executed. Each dish is carefully prepared, with refined flavors and elegant presentation that highlight both technique and respect for the ingredients. Dishes ordered was an amazing Fish Ceviche, that received a masterful touch on peanut. The Tostada de Maiz with Octopus boasted a tender octopus over a crispy tostada bathed with a mole sauce. Delightful!.The Bisque of Shrimp & Octopus was equally good. The Pork of the Day featured amazingly thin and crispy skin. The service is attentive, knowledgeable, and well-paced, making the experience feel relaxed and welcoming rather than formal or stiff. The waiter carefully explained every dish and drinks. The atmosphere is intimate and comfortable without being pretentious. Dos Sucres truly stands out as one of Cuenca’s top restaurants and is a must-visit for anyone looking for a high-end dining experience rooted in local flavors. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
