In case the rain took you by surprise during the promenade around Noordelijk Scheepvaartmuseum, stop by Douwe Egberts Café. If hungry, come here for perfectly cooked muffins and good pancakes. Great cappuccino is the right choice.

After a nice sunny day in the city I decided it was time for a delicious espresso. This is when I stumbled upon Douwe Egberts Café, nice decor and it seemed like a great place to enjoy my favorite brew.Unfortunately the espresso itself was, let’s put it mildly, sub-optimal. First of all it came served in a cappuccino cup which seemed odd for an espresso and there was no noticeable crema, it had the watery consistency of filter coffee that further fueled my intense disappointment in the lack of espresso in this cappuccino cup, which was sold to me as an espresso…Coffee 0/5 Decor 4/5

Hi Jaap, thanks for your review! Sad to hear you didn't enjoy your espresso as much as the decor and vibe of our café. For a café specialized in coffee it's kind of essential that there's good coffee. I don't know if something went wrong (normally guests never complain about our espresso), but if you mentioned it to the barista's I'm sure they would have made you a new one. If there are complaints we prefer to solve them immediately on the floor. Hopefully you will give us another shot in the future and enjoy your coffee more!
