This was our first time with co-workers and a client for happy hour last week. The food and drink were fantastic and the service was excellent! Thank you, lovely ladies! We started with the charcuterie and cheese boards. Too many words to describe the boards. I'll tell you, though, a touch of the whipped quince paste with Fromager d'Affinois (similar to Brie but creamier) on a flatbread cracker, for instance, was so delicious! We also got the flatbreads: Buffalo Mozzarella (self-explanatory what's on it), and the other was Maitake Mushroom and Brie with carmelized onion crema, and saba (a type of caramelized grape syrup). Just delicious!

I saw their menu on the outside window and couldn't resist coming in for a piece of their Buttermilk Strawberry Shortcake and an NA Bitburger Pils. The shortcake was moist and crumbly, and the strawberries had been sweated sufficiently so there was a nice balance of sweet and tart. If I were still drinking, I would've grabbed a glass of wine!

Downtown Wine Merchants is a whole vibe. The wine is wonderful and well priced and the food is both beautiful and delicious. This is my happy place.
