First visit for me On Valentine’s Day just gone , me and my partner went to the dumb post inn for a lovely 3 course meal, honestly each course was just as good as the others , such good quality food ,service and atmosphere! , cannot recommend it enough , I will 100% be coming back in the future. Also the view from the pub itself is amazing in the garden area , they also have an amazing tent/canopy area that has a real nice vibe to it . Overall great experience and definitely recommend to anyone that is thinking of going . Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free of charge parking lot

Was really looking forward to birthday meal, having celebrated my daughter’s birthday at The Dumb Post in February, which was amazing, but was terribly disappointed. The lamb was like mutton, only four mouthfuls, mainly grizzle and fat, if there was any jue, I couldn’t find it, a minimalistic amount of wilted greens and under cooked potato. The chocolate brownie was under cooked as well. Such a shame, we raved over the meal in February, but now we have no desire to return. The staff and the atmosphere was exceptional as usual, such a shame about the food.

My daughter booked a table for me and my wife and her for a Father’s Day meal using the online system. We arrived to be told we would be sat outside. This was not in any of the confirmation details my daughter received and had not been requested. Due to it being Father’s Day there were no tables inside. The weather was cool, windy and cloudy. We had not brought jackets as we expected to be inside. My daughter had driven from Poole where she lives. Other than ‘sorry, there’s nothing I can do’ my wife had to prompt the manager to actually offer any type of compensation for this outrageously poor service!
My daughter received a call from the landlady later that afternoon (after we’d had to go and buy food to cook!), and, after discussions, was informed that the three of us would receive a meal and a bottle of wine to make up for missing the Fathers Day meal but also myself and my wife would receive an additional meal for putting us out so much and having to go out and buy food to cook.
We have received a voucher which barely cover a meal for two let alone a meal for 3 with a bottle of wine! What’s more, the expiry date on the voucher has already passed! It does not cover any fuel that would be needed for my daughter to drive back to Calne again from Poole and, in my opinion, does not make up for the dreadful service we received.
This is the second time I have been badly let down by this pub and will not be bothering my time and effort to be let down again!
Poor show, even with new management.
