You will want to put this on your "must go to" list!! It's worth the drive from Iowa City for sure! I can't wait to go back and try other items on the menu! Kids have a great play area too! I love the open design of the building and spaces they have created for everyone from a single diner to a large group of friends or family! I got seated promptly after being greeted warmly by Mike and having the menu explained to me. The service staff were very friendly and the food—macaroni and cheese—arrived quickly. That dish is a “side” so it came without a vegetable. Green beans, asparagus or peas would have been a nice addition. For dessert, I had raspberry pie à la mode, which came with generous scoops of delicious vanilla ice cream. The atmosphere is light and welcoming. As you can see in the pictures, there are big windows all around and a fine, stone fireplace. There’s a separate room for smaller kids to play in. The restaurant is conveniently located for those traveling from Southern Iowa to Iowa City or the Cedar Rapids airport along route one just south of the four-way stop in Kalona. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Vegetarian options: Grilled cheese with ham but hold the ham. There is also a macaroni and cheese side in a small or large size. The large size is a meal, but doesn’t come with a vegetable.

This place is such a great place to visit. The owners have put much thought and effort into the entire business. I enjoy the Dutch Country Table! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Order type: Dine in Meal type: Brunch Price per person: $10–20 Parking space: Plenty of parking Kid-friendliness: They have an indoor play place Wheelchair accessibility: Yes.
