I recently had an incredibly disappointing experience at Dyer's Burgers located at 205 Beale St in downtown Memphis. I feel compelled to share my negative encounter with the hope that others can avoid such a frustrating and unpleasant dining experience. First and foremost, both the waitress and manager displayed a shocking level of rudeness and unprofessionalism. Their behavior towards customers was completely unacceptable. It seemed as though they believed the automatic 20 percent gratuity fee charged for parties of 2 or more entitled them to treat customers with utter disregard and disrespect. It's disheartening to witness such a sense of entitlement among the employees. To make matters worse, the restaurant's policy regarding parties of 10 is beyond absurd. Instead of allowing separate checks for each individual, they force the entire party to be paid out on one bill. This meant that, despite only being a party of 2, I was expected to foot the bill for the meals of 10 people, most of whom I didn't even know. Consequently, my daughter and I were denied the opportunity to eat, as the burden of paying for others' meals was simply unreasonable and unfair. This experience left me deeply disappointed and frustrated. I will never set foot in this downtown Memphis location of Dyer's Burgers again. It is a shame that such a popular establishment allows its staff to treat customers with such disrespect and enforces nonsensical policies that ruin the dining experience. If you're looking for a friendlier and more customer-oriented atmosphere, I strongly recommend visiting Dryer's location in Collierville instead. Overall, I cannot stress enough how negatively this visit impacted me. Dyer's Burgers on Beale St. is a place to be avoided at all costs. Save yourself the trouble and choose a restaurant that values its customers and provides a pleasant dining experience.
