May, 2026. We needed not to hesitate dining here while camping nearby with friends. While the restaurant is in need of a renovation and an exterior cleanup, it's the food that counts, right? El Zarape does not disappoint when it comes to tasty Mexican themed dishes. We enjoyed our meal and our server was friendly yet very busy as the only server on duty. The wait time was a bit long for this kind of cuisine but worth the wait. Since we often camp nearby at Foscue Creek Campground, I expect we will be back here when we have a desire for good Mexican food! The chile rellenos and pork carnitas are delicious, so is the salsa. Service is hands down the best in Demopolis. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4
