At first glance, you don't really notice this small family establishment that looks like a nightclub with its large green neon letters that light up the sky after dark. Stuck between the brasserie of Père Galliaerde and a mini supermarket signed Mulliez, the Efes kebab has been delighting young and old since 1999. Inside, to reach the checkout, you will have to walk along the refrigerated display in front of which a large mirror gives us the illusion of an additional room and reminds us that size is not the most important. Because despite the smallness of the location, you immediately feel at home, welcomed with big smiles. Once past the counter, you discover a slightly larger room with a heterogeneous decoration made up of sparse but meaningful objects. On the wall, a set of spices hung between two wobbly paintings. One look is enough to guess all the smells. Opposite, two mandolins hung under the ceiling seem to let their melody float silently between the few tables and chairs that furnish this oasis. It does not take more to transport us elsewhere. Let the journey begin... Being a vegetarian, I appreciate the different options that are offered: the falafel galette and the mixed galette in particular. In the first, homemade falafel balls go perfectly with red cabbage, tomato, lettuce and onion in a just golden pancake. The second is just as appetizing, a few falafel balls give way to pieces of eggplant and juicy peppers. A delight ! If you feel you have enough appetite, you can opt for the menu which will allow you to accompany the already very nutritious galette with some fries and a drink. As you will have understood, a detour is a must during your next trip to the Wazemmes market! Thank you Efes!
