One of the best places to visit for top tier matcha and hot chocolate in Brisbane! I love that they offer different levels of darkness for their hot choccies and the matcha is always exceptional. The food is consistently delicious with unique dishes that showcase excellent attention to detail and quality. These photos are from various visits since 2024. The staff are very friendly and efficient. Plenty of parking available around, but getting a table can be tricky on weekends as it's so popular. A regular spot of mine! They serve amazing coffee with ONA beans, I usually enjoy one cup here and take another away. Food is straightforward and delicious. My only complaint: all outdoor tables are wobbly and unlevel, experienced this across multiple tables already. Food: 4 Service: 4 Atmosphere: 4

Dropped by Eight Ounce Cafe for a solo brunch. Ordered two items. Aburi Salmon Sashimi Chazuke $25 Lightly seared salmon over kombu rice with ikura, yuzu kosho, chives and arare, served with a pot of awase dashi on the side. This one was pretty to look at, even though the salmon 'flower' on top was a tad lopsided when it arrived. If you’ve never had chazuke before, you pour the warm dashi over the bowl and it turns into a savoury rice soup. Overall it tasted ok with a hint of spice, but I feel like this one is more about looks than taste. Ebi Katsu Sando $18 House made prawn patty fried golden, with crisp lettuce and citrus marmalade mayo in bread that felt a little on the dry side. The cutlet itself was also pretty bland on its own and relies heavily on the mayo for flavour, which did taste nice though. Staff are friendly but the place is quite busy and wait times long. I also feel the tables could do with more thorough wipe downs between customers as mine and the table next to me weren’t exactly clean of food debris. Overall, food looked great but taste was just ok for me on this visit. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: A$40–60 Food: 3 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3
