Having seen Producers of McLaren Vale, it's time to have a rest at this restaurant. All the guests adore gorgeous Australian cuisine at Ekhidna Kitchen & Wines. This was our third visit to the restaurant. Very consistent with the quality of food and service. Great atmosphere and views of the vineyards and hills. We had the kangaroo special dish and the kiev cut chicken breast with sides of potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Oh and the local bread, cold pressed olive oil and dukkah starter. Our server. Ella, was very knowledgeable and helpful with the wine pairings. Not our last visit. 10/10.

This review is long overdue as my partner and I have been here many times and we even decided to get married here! While this was a year ago we came back for our Anniversary and found the quality, hospitality and friendliness is still second to none. I suppose I should break this review down into a couple of areas. The Lead Up To Our Wedding: During our hunt for a venue we came across Ekhidna as the fifth place in our list, once we got chatting with the Owner/Coordinator Erin we made a decision pretty quickly that Ekhidna was where we wanted to tie the knot, we tried the food and drink and fell in love with the venue pretty quickly. We were accommodated for like royalty and felt like we had a helping hand right up to our big day. The Big Day: With Erin taking charge the venue was decorated and organised perfectly. Seamless coordination with our florist, celebrant and musician left us feeling relaxed and comfortable allowing us to enjoy our day without worry. We organised share plates for our sit down dinner and all 60 guests were left stuffed and happy, some of the best wedding food we've ever eaten. It was great to see staff helping out where they could and accommodating for our older guests to make their night comfortable and relaxing. It was a wonderful experience and a perfect day, we cannot thank Ekhidna enough for helping us have such a special memory we'll treasure forever. The Revisit: My wife and I loved our experience so much we came back for our Anniversary. Erin and the crew welcomed us back remembering us and once again making us feel quite special. Seated in a nice quiet corner we treated ourselves to a wonderful lunch looking out over the vineyard. Food was delicious and we were happy to see the quality of food and service still remains. As I write this review I'm now seated in the outdoor area next to my wife enjoying the scenery, bird chatter and a yummy dark ale. Cheers Ekhidna!
