What a great find. We tried both Italian and Mexican dishes. Italian and Mexican sauces are fresh and delicious. Service is excellent. Italian margarita was wonderful, not too sweet due to the citrus. Ingenious change up. Eggplant soufflé was lovely. Great tomato basil sauce. We had the duo handmade pasta (mushroom cream sauce on one side and tomato meat sausage on the other). Pasta was hand made and well made, dish was perfect. All cream and cheese sauce would have been too rich. Nice balance and way to try two dishes in one. Mole sauce is homemade, rich and has a little spice. We came from the lansing area to try this restaurant. It’s great. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4

I would definitely come back for the food, but then again, I knew the food would be good because this is the sister restaurant to La Noria Bistro, which I fancy quite a bit. The two restaurants share some menu items, and while I like the ambience a little more at La Noria, I enjoyed my experience at El Barzon. As far as for goes, I recommend the chorizo and cheese appetizer to eat with the complimentary chips. Their homemade pasta is scrumptious, and the sauces outstanding. A friend had veal scallopini and said it was wonderful. Another friend had enchiladas suizas and said it was slightly spicy, but not uncomfortably so, and delicious. Someone else mentioned that the clams are good. They also have a large wine list and decent cocktail choices. The dining room is fairly small and nice. It looks like they have a nice patio for warmer months. The bathrooms are clean. We had a reservation for 15 people at 5 p.m. We got our main courses at 6:25. We had to eat in a hurry because we had a 7:30 show about 15 minutes from the restaurant. Then we had to wait to pay. If you go with a big party, they won't split the check so ask for your bill early if you're in a rush. It takes a considerable amount of time for them to ring everyone up this way. Perhaps it's to keep tipping fair when wait staff splits a table. I'm not sure, but I know it's inconvenient and time-consuming for both the patrons and the wait staff. Everyone who waited on us was friendly and professional though, and they did their best. Whatever you order, I'm sure you'll enjoy it, and you'll be treated well by the staff, so give them a try! Parking: There's a lot across from La Noria and behind El Barzon. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free parking lot
