Just Dad and 10 and 7 year old boys for dinner. Boys night! All good was awful. I got tacos de carnitas and the Carnitas was dry as a bone. My kids got steak tacos and the steak came out in tiny little chewy burned pellets. Horrible. Then we ordered the fried ice cream and the ice cream was covered in corn flakes only the cornflakes were the most stale chewy cornflakes ever. Very disappointing. A server or some other employee also stood right next to us for the longest time. He was watching us eat and it was weird. We couldn’t even carry on a conversation. This location seems to have gone downhill. Price per person: $20–30 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 2

We recently ate at El Caporal when visiting family from out-of-state. We had a large group and called earlier in the day before coming in, to make sure that they would at least be aware that we were coming in. From the moment we called, until the moment we left the restaurant, we were treated as though we were an inconvenience for choosing to dine with them. Our server was unwelcoming and even failed to make eye contact while some members of our party ordered their food. One member of our party ordered a large margarita. The rest of our group received their drinks, and the server was taking food orders, when this person had to ask if their drink was forgotten, which it had been. The server confirmed the drink, and when it came it was beautiful. Their baby was sitting in their lap, and before they could take their first drink, the baby pulled the entire drink over. Due to the size of our party, we could not be seated at one table, but rather tables that were close together. That was fine, but after the spill, they made everyone at those tables move to other tables, and then our party was separated, including children from parents. The server brought the guest a second margarita, and charged the customer for two. While we understand that these things have a cost associated with them, this paired with the poor customer service and lack of appreciation really drove home the poor experience. If there are 15 spills per year at this restaurant, does it really impact their bottom line to only charge the customer for one drink? Now, they've lost future business from a group of about 16 different individuals. The food was good, but nothing spectacular. Food: 4 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1

Great food, friendly staff, calm and quiet atmosphere (on a Wednesday night), and reasonable prices. Best Mexican restaurant in the area as far as I can tell. And they have tamales!!! Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30
