Bright seaside Restaurant all in white with some Cuban flavour incl. oldtimer and parrot at the entrance. Mainly seafood dishes which are fresh and tasty. The service is friendly and the view out of the restaurant towards terrace and beach absolutely striking. A place to heavenly eat, then to digest cosily at the beautiful beachside. Review at the club, in the evening. Not at the beach or at the restaurant. Being originally from this wonderful area, until 5-6 years ago El Cohiba 59 was a nice place made up of modest, kind and polite staff where you could find everything from ice cream to cigarettes, from an aperitif to dinner and you left satisfied. After trying other times, this was the last because to get 2 ice creams (one of which with whipped cream) I had to redo the queue 2 times and take the number 2 times. Assuming that El Cohiba is located in the center of the Lido Silvana promenade and there are really many many people to be treated like money machines, it would take at least the COURTESY AND EDUCATION necessary to manage any place not to mention the bad service and organization that have. I'll explain what happened: We were walking after having dinner in another place and despite the queue, we decide to have 2 ice creams and a amaro thinking that the queue would be disposed of much faster. - 1 (one) cash register only for: Ice creams, Bar, tobacco, Scratch and win, Toll parking. Right from the back of the line, people went to ask the cashier (I think one of the owners) where they could pay for parking or buy cigarettes rather than the various services. The lady replies to get in line and slowly their turn would come, slowing down the queue even more and the smartest ones left... I was there by now, protecting my place. Once it's my turn and the umpteenth complaint from customers, I take the opportunity to point out to the lady that I too think like them and that a cash register is needed for each service so that customers remain happy and they themselves would earn more. HE ANSWERED ME THAT THEY HAD TOO MUCH WORK LIKE THIS AND THAT, IF PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO QUEUE, THEY WOULD GO ELSEWHERE (alluding to the fact that in that area, there are only them who offer such a complete service). I was terrified and I point out that until a few years earlier, that restaurant would have paid to have the customers it has now because "only" the people originally from the place and those transferred elsewhere came. He counters by saying that now there is a lot of work that they don't care about and that some time ago they had more cash registers but they removed them as there were always customers who got smart by queuing at the cash register with fewer people, for example, tobacco, and once upon a time they asked for ice cream and other things. But what reasoning is that? It was enough to make him queue again .... Oh well Let's hope that the mania for grandeur that has replaced that courteous and calm way of the old days doesn't scare away those tourists who have recently been plucked all over the Salento. I stop here. Kid-friendliness: A few toys for the children waiting outside. Service: Dine in Meal type: Other Price per person: €1–10 Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4
