Visiting from the UK during our travels, we stumbled upon El Criollo while exploring Quito for the weekend. After a long day, we were in search of a cold local beer and authentic Ecuadorian food, and this place exceeded all expectations. From the moment we entered, we were warmly welcomed, and the menu immediately impressed us with its variety of local dishes. We started with a couple of beers, which were perfectly chilled, and then ordered two Ecuadorian specialties: my partner had the lamb stew, and I chose the pork dish. Both were absolutely bursting with flavour—rich, perfectly seasoned, and truly delicious. El Criollo is a must-visit for anyone looking to experience Ecuadorian cuisine in a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!
