Drawn in by the other reviews and high praise I chose this restaurant when I was passing through the area. Seating and waiter attentiveness was fine. However, the food was extremely bland and not very good. My avocado was also very hard, leaving teeth marks when I attempted to bite through it. The best part of my meal was the cilantro and days later my stomach still hurts from the unsightly chicken tacos I had, this place needs some serious work. Price per person: $10–20 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 3

The tacos were soggy. I had carne asada tacos and they were steamed and wet. The Al pastor were dry. The bathrooms looked ran through. Oh and the chips were old and that green stuff that came with it was nasty. I never go out and I usually go off rating when I do, that’s why I choose this spot. If only I could go back in time and saved my time and money. Disappointed Price per person: $20–30 Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 3

We live in the neighborhood and this was our first time at El Palenque. The food and atmosphere were excellent—authentically Mexican. And the staff were friendly and attentive. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20
