Disappointing Experience Unfortunately, our experience was not what we expected, mind you this was our first time. The food was disappointing and lacked the quality and flavor. The temperature inside the restaurant was so uncomfortably hot, this made it difficult to enjoy our meal. Overall, the combination of the food, service(I asked for a chile relleno and the waitress looked at me like I was crazy ) and uncomfortable atmosphere made for a very disappointing visit. I hope the restaurant takes this feedback seriously and works on improving these areas. We ate what we could of our food and got out of there since we couldn’t take the heat, on the way out we told the poor hostess why we decided to leave so quickly so I hope she relayed the information. Food: 1 Service: 2 Atmosphere: 1

El Patrón Downtown Riverside is an amazing spot for brunch with delicious Mexican food, friendly service, and a great atmosphere. The menu has a wide selection of flavorful dishes, from traditional favorites to creative plates, all prepared fresh and served hot. The drinks are also excellent and pair perfectly with the meals. The service is outstanding—staff are welcoming, attentive, and make sure you have everything you need. Even when it’s busy, they keep things moving with a smile. Don’t bother - the service is subpar like the unauthentic Mexican food. The 2 times I’ve had the unfortunate experience of trying to enjoy a meal at El Patron in Riverside was very disappointing. The burrito I ordered seemed like it had just been defrosted and put on my table. I visited during a slower time of day. But the uninterested server was not able to come and take my order - walking by my table , turning around and walking past me again saying “be right back”. The hostess told him twice to come and take my order. He finally came over and asked if I’ll have other guests joining me. No I didn’t. I guess it’s not a regular sight for him to see an adult woman having lunch alone.
For the quality of the food it was much overpriced. And if you go look on yelp you’ll read a Shawna person protesting all of the 1 star reviews and complaints . As if she doesn’t think they’re true. Or her most repeated phrase is “did you ask to speak with a manager”.
