Ordered here for the first time last night - easily the best quesadilla I've had in years, if not ever. Made it a meal with the beans and rice, and also had a side of chips and guac. 11/10 all round. This will definitely be a household staple. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

Just to preface, I grew up in between Corpus Christi, TX and San Antonio, TX. I have been looking for a great mexican place since I have moved up here a year and a half ago. This is the best Mexican place I’ve found by far. They are originally from a few hours south of my hometown and they do amazing food. The kitchen is exactly as I expected and their tortilla chips are actually legit compared to every other place I’ve been. I now will be going twice a week lol. Show this place some love and their food will absolutely do the same. El Pocho's Mexican Grill offers great Mexican food in a very humble setting. How humble you ask? Well, how about the kind of humble a restaurant an only obtain from being located as part of a gas station kind of humble. A simple sign only let's people know that Mexican food awaits, but the sign does not give an indication of how good the Mexican food is here. The inside is perhaps even more humble. Though brightly painted, you can't help but notice that this place might have been used for storage for the gas station. Not all of the power source gangboxes are recessed into the wall, the place is small and somewhat cramped (who am I kidding? It is definitely cramped) and overall, this is not the kind of place where the ambiance will wow you. But the food will definitely wow you and leave within your soul a serenade that truly great food can leave you with. I would recommend getting your order Togo. As I said, the place is small. The staff are great and it is obvious they love what they do and are extremely proud of their product. The carne asada burrito was very good and fairly priced at about ten dollars. Honestly, not a bad price point. I would definitely recommend a visit here. Don't be put off by the location. Remember that old adage about the best Mexican food comes from the worse neighborhoods. Great food, especially Mexican, often comes from humble places like here.
