I'm such a picky eater and PLEASE THIS IS FREAKING GREAT! EL PUERTO HAS amazing food, see pics. Sorry but we were hungry and I forgot to take pics first. But I'm just saying if it looks this good half eaten then you know it was great before you jumped into the plate with both feet. If you don't get there before 6:30 pm plan on a pretty long wait. We got there at 5:30 and it filled up with a line out of the door before we left about and hour later (on a Monday 2 days before Christmas). The chips are super thin and crispy just as I like them, and the salsa was unbelievable not to spicy hot but spicy enough great flavor! We also had frozen margaritas (Raspberry, Peach, and regular) OMGOODNESS great flavor and I got farkled up on a small..... But they weren't to strong with liquor, I hate that when they are. I don't know who left the bad reviews but they are surely confused about which place they was at, because it wasn't El Puerto in Clinton MO. There is another Mexican restaurant near by and if you like bland, with no seasoning then go to the other restaurant. This restaurant has plenty of great seasoning and the wait staff is great also, very busy and quick but always kind and attentive to your order. Stopped because it said genuine Mexican food. I did something I never do...ordered a Chile rellano. Why? Because in Colorado they were sooo good OIam always disappointed. However this one was tremendous! Service was awesome and prices were very reasonable. Can't wait to go back!!! Hot sauce was just right. Guac was freshly.made. way to go!!!
