If you're heading to Shreveport from East Texas, you MUST stop here. You get chips & Salsa..but the chips are hot and the homemade salsa warm! 20 plates on the lunch specials, but i always rate a Mexican restaurant on their cheese enchiladas, and they were superb. Lightly covered with thin chili then topped with cheese. REAL MEXICAN CHEESE! Rice was a 10/10 and the refried beans 9/10. Overall a 9.5. And the kicker? $9.95. Don't pass through Joaquin without stopping. Meal type: Lunch Price per person: $10–20 Parking space: Plenty of parking Parking options: Free of charge parking lot Kid-friendliness: Many young couples with children, but all were well-behaved. Typical of small town Texas.

Great little mom and pop Mexican place with the most unique salsa I have ever had. The wife and I make sure to stop in when are in the area. Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $10–20
