I come here often, and the food is legitimately good, and the prices are comparable to fast food (so you’re getting better food at a similar price), but there are some quality consistency issues. 1/3 times either the refried beans are quite runny, or the fries are undercooked, or condiments are forgotten. The last one isn’t really a big deal, but when there are small issues like that 1/3 of the time, it can feel like sort of a gamble, which is disappointing Overall I’d still recommend El Ranchero, though, because the quality/value is still strong all put together, and one of the girls who works here is incredibly nice—so I’d still say five stars overall, just with the caveat that consistency could be a little better. Price per person: $10–20
