El Rancho, located in downtown Varadero, is a bustling establishment that specializes in seafood cuisine. The ambiance is lively and vibrant, with live entertainment adding to the overall atmosphere. The interior design is simple but cozy, with an open-air seating area that allows patrons to enjoy the warm Caribbean breeze. Prices are reasonable, with two lobster dinners costing only $42. This fine dining spot also offers a good selection of soft drinks, cocktails, and wines to complement their dishes.
One of the standout dishes is the langoustine in tomato sauce, which boasts a delicious flavor and texture. The pork chop dinner is also highly recommended, as it is cooked to perfection. For seafood lovers, the lobster tail and shrimp dishes are a must-try. The establishment also offers chicken breast and fish fillet for those who prefer non-seafood options.
El Rancho is not without its flaws, however. The mojitos are not the best, and some dishes, such as the overcooked lobster and tough steak, may disappoint. Despite these shortcomings, the establishment's outdoor seating area and live music make for a pleasant dining experience.
Overall, El Rancho is a great place to grab a bite to eat while exploring Varadero. Its location across from Parque Josone and the Beatles Bar makes it easily accessible to tourists. Additionally, feeding the local cats and chickens adds a unique touch to the dining experience.

We ate at El Rancho on our last night in Varadero. The food was delicious. There were shortages, and some menu options not available. We chose from the available menu options and all the food was hot and tasty. The musicians were very good too. All in all a great way to end a week in Cuba. Highly recommend this restaurant.
