Elephant In Alley is a quaint cafe tucked away on Xinsheng North Road in the bustling Da'an District of Taipei. Situated near the Zhongxiao Xinsheng metro station, it's an easy-to-miss spot that's not entirely featured in many major dining directories, apart from a sparse profile on Tripadvisor. Despite its modest publicity, this hidden gem has managed to carve out a distinct niche with a few uniquely memorable offerings, based on some dated visitor reviews.
Patrons have praised the cafe's charming ambiance as an ideal setting for an afternoon drink. The desserts at Elephant In Alley seem to be a particular highlight, characterized by rich flavors, particularly their inventive takes on traditional ingredients like taro and purple rice. These reviews describe the textural finesse and balanced sweetness of various treats, although some note the compact size of the venue, which may lead it to be overlooked by passersby.
Unfortunately, information on current operating hours and other updates from the cafe's owner remains elusive. The last available feedback from visitors dates back six years, indicating a potential gap in recent customer interactions or ownership engagement. For those willing to venture off the beaten path in search of a unique cafe experience, Elephant In Alley presents an intriguing, if somewhat enigmatic, choice amid Taipei’s diverse culinary landscape.
