The food was ok, but the staff's ( manager and waitress) treatment was rude and not friendly at all. We consumed since we were already in the restaurant. After nearly 2 hours there and still consuming, the manager and the waitress almost forced us to leave the restaurant because they wanted the table back. We were still drinking beer and cocktails, and they didn’t care about it. They gave us plastic cups to drink from and asked us to leave, but it is illegal to drink on the street. So we sat on the bench at the end of the restaurant to finish our drinks, and the manager told us to leave again because there were other customers, but we were customers as well and had a bill of over 100 euros, the minimum reason to let us at least finish our drinks like the others. He didn’t see any kind of the situation and was only worried about the money from the new customers. We felt extremely uncomfortable because of the situation, and all the customers strained us. Elephant & Castle, located in the pulsating heart of Temple Bar in Dublin, promises a different experience, but sadly it didn't live up to expectations. I had the opportunity to dine here with friends, but the experience was rather disappointing. The food was of medium-low quality, far from the standards one would expect from a venue in such a busy area. Unfortunately, the service also did not contribute to improving the evening: the staff were not very friendly and seemed more interested in getting the job done quickly than in ensuring a good welcome. Furthermore, the temperature inside was unbearable. Although we asked for a fan to be moved for some relief, our request was ignored, making dinner even more unpleasant. Ultimately, the experience was not positive at all, and I don't think I will return to this location. If you are looking for somewhere to eat in Temple Bar, I recommend exploring other options.
