Elf is one of those rare places that turns meals into poetry, like you have to savor every bite with your eyes closed lol. The staff is so professional, knowledgeable, and warm. They know what they're doing. Very sweet, romantic ambiance. A true local gem! 11/10 !

ELF IS BAAAACK!!! ‍‍ during the pandemic, elf café was a casualty of the shutdowns. so many people, including myself, were sad to see this spot close because it was a gem of a low key neighborhood spot for sustainable and tasty north african-inspired vegetarian cuisine. then a few days ago while i was on a walk, i saw a man locking up the door to the place. i asked what was happening with the spot, and he shared that elf was opening over the weekend. i was super excited about the reopening so i got myself over there today, and boy was i glad to be able to hang at elf again. i ordered the smoked trout brandade on mashed potatoes, maitake mushrooms with potato, and gnocchi with a carrot slaw thing that was divine. it was all so flavorful and unfussy. there are two outdoor tables with heat lamps, but most of the seating is indoors. it's super cozy, and the kitchen is in the middle the space. you can sit at the bar and watch the chefs do their thing. i'll be back to work my way through their wine list. staff is warm, helpful, and attentive. it's good to have them back when so many good spots in the neighborhood have been shuttering forever.
