We came in just for drinks and were completely blown away. The cocktail program here is genuinely impressive — not just “tropical bar” impressive, but world-class impressive. We tried their spin on a whiskey sour, which was perfectly balanced with just the right amount of acid and sweetness, and a fruity cocktail featuring Cacique, the local Costa Rican guaro spirit. If you haven’t tried Cacique, it’s similar to a clean vodka but with a distinct local character — and the bartenders here know exactly how to showcase it. Speaking of the bartenders — they were exceptionally knowledgeable. They walked us through the spirits, explained their technique, and clearly have a real passion for their craft. That kind of expertise is rare, especially in a beach town. And beyond the knowledge, they were genuinely warm and fun to talk to. Sitting at the bar is absolutely the move. The atmosphere strikes a perfect balance — upscale and chic without feeling stuffy. It’s a cool air-conditioned escape from the Nosara heat, with a vibe that feels more like a city craft cocktail bar than anything you’d expect to find in a small surf town. If you’re visiting Nosara, Elixir is a must. Whether you’re a cocktail nerd or just want something delicious, you’ll leave impressed. We’ll be back every trip. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

This place was really fun! Good vibes, good music, good sushi and cocktails. No dessert on the menu, and it got real quiet from about 9 to 10pm, but then it seemed to fill up again with a younger crowd. Glad they’re getting good business as the sushi was really good quality!
