1. Rude ‘welcome’ that made us feel uncomfortable and an inconvenience 2. Prosecco that was ‘included’ in the package was not provided, apparently it’s my fault for not asking for it (didn’t really want to, see number 1) 3. Changing room was flooded on arrival 4. Cleanliness in some areas seems to be an issue 5. No loo roll available in upstairs toilet, no hand towels available in downstairs toilet 6. Outdoor pool area was dangerous with trip hazards, apparently undergoing refurbishment but we weren’t even made of that on or before arrival 7. The lounger cushions were stained and discoloured 8. General appearance needs a bit of attention considering supposedly 5*; broken things need replacing and signs really need to be a bit more than an A4 stuck to the wall with blue-tack What was supposed to be a special treat, was woefully disappointing. The ‘aftercare’ has been terrible - they really DON’T care. Spend your money elsewhere !!!

In February we fully booked and paid for our stay at Ellenborough Park in June for my 50th birthday. We were just informed seven weeks before our trip in June, that they will no longer accommodate us, in favor of a large group. They offered us other dates (which of course, we can't do) or a replacement room at another hotel (of much lower value) or to cancel altogether. We have already booked and planned for our entire trip and are shocked and devastated that we'd be dropped like this so they can make more money. I can't even say how disappointing this has been and the tone of the reservation manager has been terrible, making no effort to compensate with an upgrade at the other hotel. Extremely and terribly disappointing.
