Nice example of a traditional country pub. Popped in after a mid week walk round the reservoir hoping to get lunch. Unfortunately they had stopped serving so settled for a quick pint before afternoon closing at 3pm, just like the old days. I'm normally a dark ale drinker but given a choice of Hetton Pale, and Taylor's Golden Best or Knowle Spring I chose the latter. I must say it was exceptional, with that unique flavour that all Taylor's ales had before Landlord became the mass produced beer found all over the country that it has become. I look forward to returning to sample their food.

Pie was delicious. Good selection of drinks available and reasonable cost. Nice pub and quiet. Price per person: £10–20 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 4 Recommended dishes: Steak Pie with Mashed Potatoes with Gravy
