We decided to try Elyo Shawarma because we love the location on Montée Paiement, but this one is closer to home. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The first time, the taboulé was gritty, likely because the herbs hadn’t been washed properly—it was full of sand, making your teeth grind when chewing. We decided to give them another chance, thinking it might have been a one-off issue. My husband ordered a shawarma all dressed with rice and extra navet, repeating it twice to ensure it was clear. He even mentioned, ‘please all dressed with extra navet for my wife,’ and the staff assured him, ‘yes, no problem.’ While the food was being prepped, my husband stepped away to use the washroom, so he didn’t see the preparation. When we got home, the shawarma was disappointing again—just navet and rice, with none of the other veggies or taboulé, despite repeating the order multiple times the meat was fresh though. This lack of attention to detail and quality control really stands out compared to the Montée Paiement location. I've been going there since they opened. My last 3 visits where not as pleasant, smaller portions, one sauce on the sandwiches, error on order when got home to my surprise. Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–40 Food: 3 Service: 3
