Found this one on yelp and looked ok. Wanted a margaritas and some reasonable Mexican food. The place is hard to find from the highway on a weird service road. Our first clue should have been that it was 8pm on Saturday and the parking lot was empty. No cars... The sign said open and the hours said they were open until 9. We took a chance. Walked in the door and it was hot even though we were having an unusual cool night for Texas. It looked reasonably clean and comfortable. All of the staff were sitting at a table near the kitchen playing on their phones. One guy got up to "greet" us, and before we could sit down, he asked us what we wanted to drink. We told him we were planning on having some margaritas, but we'd like to sit down first. He said, "We're closing soon and can't serve you drinks." When we questioned him about the closing time, he said he could serve us one "free" margarita, but they "don't have a permit." ??????? We never even got sat down before we hit the exit. Not sure about the food since we never got to that, but as we drove past another little dive mexican joint a few blocks away, it was packed, so I'm guessing I know the answer. I hope the staff was looking for new jobs on their phones, I doubt this place will be here the next time we're in town. We won't be back.
