Incredibly disappointed with my recent and first visit to embargo. Drinks and food were adequate— tried the vegetable tempura, hummus, and their margarita along others. Nothing exceptional but nothing offensively bad either. The real reason for the poor experience comes squarely from management and service. We were rushed from our table after less than two hours so that other tables might be seated outside. Not a huge deal, but when I turned around and saw two vacant tables directly behind me, I was confused. Would have been enough to have been rushed once, but every one of the next several (3-4 people over maybe ten minutes) people that came over to our table mentioned that we needed to leave, which was overzealous and rude. Of course after being told once we were in a rush to get out of this place, but our actual waitress was nowhere to be found. Other folks had come to take dishes, remind us to leave, etc, but for 20-30mins while being consistently told to leave we were unable to find out waitress and close out. Should have just left anyway since the space was clearly so important to them. At one point someone stood directly in front of our table with a bar rag, presumably waiting to sanitize it once we left. This gentleman did not speak to us but instead chose to simply stare at me, which was unnerving and inappropriate. It was interesting that they were more than happy to have the guests on the hook for the general well-being of the restaurant, but not the actual staff. Service was not only inattentive to their patrons, but downright rude and uncaring. I will never return and I have been vocal to my friends and family in the area to stay away. With so much competition on Main Street Hyannis, choose any of the other multitudes of bars to enjoy. Service: Dine in Meal type: Other Price per person: $20–30 Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 2
