We ordered for the 1st time from the Empress of India since the 1st "lockdown" back in March 2020.I ordered online at 5.48pm 6/3/21 for a 8.25pm delivery. After ordering, I immediately called the restaurant to amend the delivery time to 8.30pm. I was told it would be an issue.By 8.47pm, there was no sign of the delivery, so I called the restaurant to ask how long it would be. I was told about 4mins. The call taker apologised and said "next time" we could have some onion bhajis free.At 8.50pm (3mins later), the delivery arrived and he was apologetic saying that he had 4 deliveries around the village and that mine was the 5th. This would've meant that my order had been in his vehicle for at least 17 or 18mins.On top of this, there was a £3 delivery charge & a 50p service charge which I think were expensive. On opening our order, the rice was tepid as was the naan bread. I had to heat these in my microwave prior to eating.Whilst the vegetable & the chicken currys were nice, the 20min late order, and the lukewarm food items unfortunately let this experience down.

Hi Martin sorry for the late delivery, can you please call the restaurant so I can look into this for you as we don’t give any driver no more than 2 deliveries unless there’s 2 deliveries on the same street then yes we will give 3 deliveries. Thank you.
